We are delighted to introduce new staff members who joined JACAR in 2021.
TAKAHASHI Yoichiro
Current position: Section Chief of Information System Seciton (appointed on October 1, 2021)
Previous position: Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee International Bureau, Dignitary Services Division Senior Manager
At JACAR he has been working on the management and procurement of information system as well as the operation of JACAR’s website and server. He also works with the National Archives of Japan regarding JACAR’s LAN system and database. He has also been in charge of managing online conference system.
KANEKO Takasumi
Current position: researcher (appointed April 1, 2021)
Previous position: Part-time employee of the Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
At JACAR he has created and consolidated items for the JACAR Glossary “Japan’s Army during the Meiji and Taisho Eras.” He has also been involved in editing this newsletter and planning our 20th anniversary symposium. His personal research theme is Japanese foreign policy toward Nationalist China in 1930s.
MIZOI Satoshi
Current position: Assistant Researcher (appointed April 1, 2021)
Previous job: Nihon University College of Humanities & Sciences Museum curator
At JACAR, he is involved in checking new data received from the National Archives of Japan, Diplomatic Archives, and National Institute for Defense Studies. He is also involved in improving the JACAR database (collecting additional information, correcting errors, preparing English data and so forth). He has carried out personal research on the preservation, restoration, and the release of modern and contemporary documents.
