 As staff officer of the Japanese Navy, Akiyama Saneyuki participated in the Battle of Yellow Sea and the Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese War. Akiyama Saneyuki was promoted to Vice Admiral in 1917 (6th year of Taisho) and died in 1918 (7th year of Taisho) at the age of 49.。
