高雄警備府命令第29号によって、1945年10月24日に南部船舶救難修理部に改編され、復員まで沈没船の引揚や、港湾・水路整備などの作業に従事した。中国側への接収日時は1945年11月9日。終戦時の人員は軍人39名、軍属92名。
