The “East Carolines and Marshalls” category includes, for example, records of units dispatched to the eastern islands of the Caroline group (Truk Islands, Pohnpei Island, and Jaluit Atoll).

The “Marianas” category includes, for example, records of units dispatched to the Marianas Islands, including Guam and Saipan.
The records related to repatriation from Manchuria include such items as register collections like those created by Manmō Dōhō Engokai [Association for Supporting Compatriots in Manchuria and Mongolia] (predecessor to the present-day Kokusai Zenrin Kyōkai [International Good Neighbors Association]); along with the various manuscripts and materials used in compiling both Manmō shūsen-shi (comp. Manmō Dōhō Engokai; Tokyo: Kawade Shinbō Shinsha, 1962) and the introduction and all volumes of Manshūkoku-shi (ed. Manshūkoku-shi Hensan-kankō-kai; Tokyo: Manmō Dōhō Engokai, 1970, 1971). At the time when Kokusai Zenrin Kyōkai assumed the operations of Manmō Dōhō Engokai, those documents and materials that were determined to be either unnecessary or had already served their purpose were provisionally stored at the Hōsei University Ōhara Institute for Social Research before coming into the possession of the Shiga University Institute for Economic and Business Research in 2003.
