This web exhibition focuses on the Iwakura Mission, which the Japanese government dispatched for the purposes of getting acquainted with the peoples and governments of Western countries, holding diplomatic talks, and observing conditions in foreign lands. The website includes a search guide that visitors can use to more easily access items related to the Mission and a series of articles explaining the Mission’s historical background.
